This is the annual showcase of the finest quality, and some of the most exciting crafts in Great Britain. If you can only attend one fair, make it this one! It is sponsored by
The Crafts Council. The dates for 2004 are Oct. 12-17 & 19-24, with different craftmakers at each 6-day showing. Go to The Crafts Council website, or contact the
Council for further information about Chelsea. This show is always scheduled in October.

Society, Dublin, Ireland; Nov. 25-28, International Centre, Harrogate, England These shows appeal to all manner of needlework interests including feltmaking,
knitting, quilting, weaving, & embroidery. There is a full schedule of special classes and workshops, special quilt and other exhibits each year. There is an extensive
vendors market, selling threads, yarns, buttons, embellishments, etc., making this a great place to purchase supplies and find out about sources. The International
Feltmakers Association, and many other guilds, have stands at this show.

This 100-acre, open-air museum located within the grounds of St. Fagan’s Castle, has a collection of 30 reconstructed buildings brought from all over the country and
reconstructed on the site. They are arranged to show how the Welsh lived over the last 500 years, and there are rare Welsh animal breeds being raised there.
Craftspeople are working in many buildings, and there are year-round events including Crafts Days that feature special opportunities to learn skills and techniques from them.

Open 7 days except: Jan-March, closed Sundays & Bank Holidays This is a huge emporium with an excellent selection of modern and traditional Irish
crafts. The Irish Crafts Council is located here, and there are artists in residence working in the surrounding courtyard of workshops, in the converted stables of
Kilkenny Castle. The Design Centre is one of Ireland’s most celebrated shops, located in one of Ireland’s most interesting historic towns.

fibres, dyes, equipment, spinning wheels, tapestry kits, etc. There is a large book selection, and they offer weekend workshops.

Bobbins has a huge selection of yarns including Colinette’s handpainted yarns, Rowan yarns, 5-ply Guernsey wool, and arans-kits, tools, patterns, etc.

fleece of her own, and other local, flocks. Her dyes are all natural and continuously changing, using locally collected dye plants, indigo, and other ancient dyes. You are
invited to see their sheep, visit the dyehouse, and browse their shop for yarns and lovely garments of Eva’s own design. There are knitting kits available for some of
the designs. Eva does mail order of yarns, kits, and finished garments.
